The unloading of the main steel structure of the 2022 Qatar world cup main stadium undertaken by China Railway Construction International Group Co., Ltd. (CRCC) was completed successfully on August 8.
Wang Lei, executive general manager and general director of steel structure unloading of China Railway Construction Middle East regional company, said that steel structure unloading is the final and most important link of the main steel structure construction. In the current situation of severe new crown epidemic, the successful unloading not only shows the advanced level of China's steel structure technology, but also shows the ability and perseverance of Chinese enterprises.
According to Wang Lei, more than 5000 Chinese and foreign participants participated in the construction of Qatar world cup main stadium. "In the special period when the epidemic is raging all over the world, the project department adheres to the principle of no mistake in construction and epidemic prevention, so as to ensure that the construction personnel are free of infection and the overall project progress is completed on schedule."
In November 2016, CRCC won the bid for the construction of the main stadium of the 2022 Qatar world cup, with a total contract amount of 2.8 billion QAR, which was about 5.17 billion yuan at that time. After completion, the stadium can accommodate 92000 spectators and will undertake important activities such as the opening ceremony, closing ceremony and final of the 2022 World Cup.
