1. The shape of the construction site should be as simple as possible. If it is rectangular, the length width ratio of the site should be controlled within 1:1.5, which is more economical and reasonable. The terrain should be used for workshop layout, transportation connection and site drainage. Generally, the natural terrain slope of the plant should not be greater than 5 ‰, the hilly slope should not be greater than 40 ‰, and the mountain plant should not be more than 60 ‰.
2. We should avoid the development of earthquake fault and the earthquake area with the basic intensity higher than 9 degrees, debris flow, landslide, quicksand, karst cave and other hazardous areas, as well as the thick grade 3 self weight collapsible loess, newly accumulated loess, grade 1 expansive soil and other poor geological areas.
3. We should avoid the mining value of mineral areas, mined out areas, as well as ancient wells, tombs, pits dense areas.
4. The land area of the plant should meet the requirements of production technology and transportation, and reserved for expansion.
5. The production land and staff residential land shall be calculated according to the scale and personnel quota of the factory and the quota stipulated by the state, province and city.
6. For factories with wastes and residues, the area required for storing wastes and residues shall meet the requirements of service life of the factory.
7. The construction land should be considered according to the construction scale of the factory, the number of construction workers, temporary construction arrangement and other factors.
8. The steel structure workshop should not be selected in the area with dense buildings and high-voltage transmission lines, so as to reduce demolition.
9. When building steel structure plant in the area where the basic intensity is higher than seven high, the soil distribution area which is beneficial to earthquake resistance should be selected.
10. The steel structure plant site should not be selected in the downstream of the reservoir and near the flood dike where the safety can not be ensured.
11. If there are ancient tomb sites underground or ancient buildings and cultural relics on the ground, the disposal opinions and approval documents of the relevant departments should be obtained.
12. The foundation bearing capacity of steel structure workshop construction land must meet the requirements of construction regulations, and it is not allowed to build more blindly.
