Steel structure building is a commonly used building structure in China. It has high strength, light weight and good overall stiffness, and is widely used in various fields. The success of steel structure building can not be separated from the steel that constitutes it, that is, section steel and steel plate. Among them, high-frequency welded H-beam is very popular in steel structure because of its own advantages, while hot-rolled H-beam, which belongs to H-beam, is slightly inferior because of production problems. Despite the fact that steel structures are so common nowadays, in fact, they have experienced a long history of development in China. At that time, there was not even a suitable steel like H-beam welded by high frequency welding for production and use.

The emergence of steel structure buildings in China can be traced back to 1940 - 1950, when there was a chain bridge for people to use. In modern times, a number of steel arch bridges and some large span cable bridges have appeared. Steel structures are gradually being used in a small number of buildings and transportation tracks, but in general, they are still used less, compared with the European and American countries are very different. After the founding of New China, China's steel structure began to develop. It can be roughly divided into the following stages.

One stage was in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic. During this period, the former Soviet Union provided 156 assistance projects in the industrial field of New China during the implementation of the First Five-Year Plan in China. During this period, the development of steel structure buildings in China is very fast. In a few years, a large number of steel structure buildings have been built, such as Anshan Iron and Steel Company, Bohai Shipyard, Jilin Chemical Industry Company (now China Petroleum Jilin Petrochemical Company) and so on. It has contributed tremendous strength to the initial construction of our country, and some factories are still providing assistance to the development of our national economy.

The second stage is the Cultural Revolution. At this stage, the development of steel structure buildings has entered a low ebb. Because of the backward social background and metallurgical technology at that time, steel was wasted a lot, and the kinds of steel produced were very limited, which led to the supply of steel far behind the speed of construction in China. Not only that, at that time, the state pursued the policy of saving steel in buildings. Only in important buildings can steel be used. Therefore, the development of steel structure buildings has been restricted.

The third stage is after the reform and opening up, which can be called "spring of steel structure building". After the reform and opening up, China's national economy has entered a stage of rapid development, and a large number of projects and factories have provided a stage for steel structure buildings. With the development of smelting technology, the output of steel in China has exceeded 100 million tons for many years, the variety and specifications have increased greatly, and the high frequency welding H-beam has also developed.

The development of steel structure also reflects the economic development of our country. Now our country has become a big economic country, and I believe it will be more prosperous in the future.
