Lifting of Steel Beams

(1) Selection of hanging points

Before hoisting, the steel beam should carefully calculate the center of gravity of the steel beam, and make a clear mark on the component. When hoisting, the selection of hoisting point should ensure that the center line of the hook and the component is on the same vertical line. For long-span beams, because of the small lateral stiffness and the large web width-thickness ratio, members can be prevented from being distorted and damaged. If double-machine lifting is used, it is necessary to consider pulling a wire rope between the two hooks. When lifting the hook, the distance between the two machines is fixed to prevent pulling each other.

(2) Suspension of roof beams

The characteristics of roof beams are large span (i.e. long member) and small lateral stiffness. In order to ensure quality, safety, improve production efficiency and reduce labor intensity, according to site conditions and lifting equipment capacity, the workload of ground assembly is maximized, and the roof quantity assembled on the ground is lifted in place and connected with the column. Two or three-point lifting or iron pole can be used to reduce the pressure on the beam caused by the rigging.
