The protective design of steel structure canopy is to take effective protective measures for steel, so as to slow down the rust and corrosion process of steel and prolong the service life of steel members.
Generally speaking, remote areas, low pollution areas and the interior of heated buildings are C1 and C2 environments, such as, railway stations, subway stations and airports. Medium pollution areas, such as production areas with high sulfur dioxide content and high humidity, are C3 environment, typically such as water plants, natatoriums and stadiums in cities. Industrial areas, coastal areas and chemical plants can be regarded as C4 environment, such as, electronic plants, machinery plants and power plants. The c5i industrial corrosive environment is particularly polluted in high humidity industrial areas. High humidity plus high salinity is the c5m marine corrosive environment.
There are four common anti-corrosion methods:
1. The steel itself is corrosion-resistant, and weather resistant steel with corrosion resistance can be used.
2. The long-term anti-corrosion method can use hot-dip zinc and hot sprayed aluminum (zinc) composite coating for steel structure surface treatment, which can make the anti-corrosion life of steel structure reach 20 to 30 years or even longer.
3. Coating method, that is, painting (spraying) paint or other anti-corrosion materials on the surface of steel structure, and its durability is generally 5 to 10 years.
4. Cathodic protection shall be adopted for underground or underground steel structures.
