Whether it is large-scale building plant or rural residential self-built house, steel structure building is used more and more widely because of its fast construction speed, low price and many other advantages. So, what are the connection methods of its structure? What are the advantages and disadvantages of this connection method? So today, let's take a brief look at these issues.
1. Weld Joint
Advantages: simple structure (which shape components can be directly connected without auxiliary spare parts), labor-saving and material-saving (easy processing, no drilling, no weakening cross-section), fast construction (automatic operation), good sealing, high stiffness and good integrity of the connection;
Disadvantage: The material is brittle, easy to produce residual stress, residual deformation and welding defects, which have adverse effects on fatigue and stability of steel structure, which requires high welding level.
2. Bolt connection
Advantages: Simple construction, easy assembly and disassembly, high requirements for installers; fatigue resistance, easy to prevent crack growth.
Disadvantage: The cost of material, the cut section is weakened, and the precision of bolt hole processing is high.
3. Rivet Connection
Advantages: good plasticity, toughness and dynamic performance.
Disadvantage: Material cost, heating riveting process is very labor-intensive.
These three connection methods have both advantages and disadvantages, so we should choose the connection method suitable for our own construction situation in the process of steel structure construction. Moreover, we can install the structure smoothly as long as we have a good grasp of the three connection methods, which can effectively avoid some problems in the installation process, such as the unstable problem of the structure.
