The load-bearing components of light steel structure workshop are generally steel column and grid frame, and the outer surface of the building is covered with color aluminum zinc steel plate or aluminum zinc steel plate, etc. According to the code for fire protection design of buildings, the fire resistance time of columns and beams is 0.25-0.5 hours, and the fire resistance rating of buildings is only grade 4 (the fire resistance rating is lower). Taking the single-layer light steel structure workshop of MDF factory or furniture factory which is often designed by our institute as an example, its production category is class C, and the minimum fire resistance rating required by the specification is class III, so the light steel structure workshop is not qualified to be class C workshop.
The solution is to cover the column and beam with 1.5cm LG fireproof and heat insulation coating or 2cm ly fireproof and heat insulation coating, with a fire resistance time of 1.5-2.3h. In this way, the fire resistance rating of the building can be considered as grade III, which meets the requirements of the specification. However, it should be noted that the light steel structure manufacturer should consider the weight of the fireproof coating when calculating the structure.
